Hiking is a great activity, and recently I can’t seem to get enough of it. One place I’d love to visit is the Hardangerfjord in Norway.

Like any good Nordic beauty, Hardangerfjord reals its secrets slowly, coaxing in visitors with tremendous views of stone soaring upward from the water before giving way to gushing waterfalls, stoic mountain peaks, quaint villages with rustic charm and lonely lighthouses perched on wave lashed rocks.

In addition to lush forests and crystal clear vistas of cloud and shimmering sapphire water, the area boasts some of the most scenic and refreshing hiking trails in the world.

The air is a bit thinner.

I can’t wait to visit this beautiful area!

Don't look down!

While I’m there, I would probably visit the Norway city of Bergen since it is so close.

Perhaps I’d take a cruise through the Hardangerfjord from Bergen?? Who knows, I hope I can do it while I’m still young!

Newgrange….It’s an interesting part of Ireland, although somewhat of a Misnomer. Why you ask? Well, the word “new” doesn’t exactly seem correct for a place holding one of the oldest architectural buildings ever created.

A lot more than a musty tomb

It predates the pyramids by 5000 years. That’s old! Furthermore, it’s even 1000 years older than it’s eastern cousin, Stonehenge.

Since I’m going to Dublin this summer, I’d love to try and visit this place. It certainly looks interesting, and I’m sure the unique perspective that comes from visiting such ancient sites is worth the trek. Hopefully, it comes to fruition this summer!

West Coast Wishes

Seattle! The setting for dozens of films, the backdrop of Grey’s Anatomy, home of Nirvana and birthplace of a nationwide Renaissance of coffee, Seattle has an amazing west coast vibe. I feel that for most of my life, my proximity to San Francisco has overwhelmed any thoughts towards its costal brethren. Now that I’m living in Oklahoma, and thinking of the Vancouver Olympic Games just around the corner, Seattle has a much more appealing draw.

Architecturally stunning, the city has an arresting skyline, draped in fog and haloed by shimmering bay waters. Ferries bustle across with passengers, a cultural icon as strong as cablecars in San Fransisco and taxi cabs in New York City.

Visiting Seattle seems like a no brainer. Hopefully I can get going at some point and visit a lot of the West Coast in one shot. Portland would make an awesome visit as well!

Caribbean Islands!

I’ve always wanted to visit the Caribbean ever since the first time I watched “Pirates.” Obviously the beauty of the islands is what makes them so attractive to millions of visitors and tourists. Yet I am continually impressed by how wonderful these places look. I hope that I can visit them at some point in the future, hopefully sooner rather than later. I’m not into the big club scene, so I’ll probably steer clear of some of the trendier spots and trade them in for the more natural, unspoiled beauty of the other islands.

This beautiful island of Virgin Gorda is thought to be one of the most beautiful and least touristed part of the Caribbean.

It seems as well that there is miles of rocky shoreline that harbor some beautiful reefs and aquatic ecosystems teeming with life.

Perhaps I’ll go here on a vacation from law school. Perhaps once I graduate and go with my girlfriend. Maybe a honeymoon at some point. I’m sure I can find an excuse to make it.

Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe!

Can't change their spots...

Boasting one of the highest density of animals in the world, Hwange is brimming with Hippos, Elephants, Zebras and other exotic animals that call this place home. It looks like an awesome place to see wild animals on a Safari, and with its varied terrain, offers a striking backdrop from which to take it all in.

From the edge of the desolate and blistering Khalahari desert to the more lush woodlands and granite hills, the park sustains hundreds of rare animals and allows for safaris!

No Housing Crisis in Africa

Of course a visit wouldn’t be compete without lodging, and there looks to be plenty of that with many places offering tours and rooms for visitors. Overall, this looks like a can’t miss spot. It’s one of the places I’d love to visit and hopefully I’ll make it while I’m still young.

Devil’s Pool in Zimbabwe!

Victoria Falls is known as one of the highest waterfalls in the world, but what isn’t as commonly known is that you can swim on the very edge! Just look at these people swimming along the very edge of the falls. Looks like a once in a lifetime experience. This is one of the places that I cannot wait to be able to visit someday!
